What is an Order of Protection and how does it work?
An Order of Protection is a court-issued document designed to safeguard individuals from abuse, threats, or harassment. It legally prevents the accused person from engaging in specific behaviors or contacting the victim. Depending on the situation, this order can be issued by Family Court or Criminal Court. It imposes legal consequences if its terms are violated.
